Stroke Recovery BC | In-Person Community Meetings

Our Community meetings provide an opportunity to connect with fellow stroke survivors locally to find support, companionship, share stories and learn from one another in a supportive environment.

Depending on the offering, community meetings may be led by a Stroke Recovery BC Program Instructor, a Volunteer Lead, or a stroke-survivor peer.

Activities may include:

  • Education, information, and discussion topics around stroke recovery, community access, health and wellness
  • Exercise sessions (designed for stroke recovery)
  • Cognitive activities and games to help create new neuro pathways to the brain
  • Peer connection, fellowship, and socialization for stroke survivors and their families

Our community meetings are safe spaces where you can share experiences, information and coping strategies.

NOTE: Community Meetings are not available in every British Columbia community. Virtual Regional Programs are a great alternative. We continue to work with organizations and survivors to develop additional community meeting programs, as funding is possible.
