A region-specific virtual stroke recovery program is available to you based on the Health Authority Region in which you reside.
These programs offer:
· Local community and regional information, education and discussions on living life after stroke
· Cognitive activities
· Opportunities to share knowledge, resources, challenges, and triumphs with other stroke survivors in your Region

Virtual BC-Wide Musical Minds Program:
Musical Minds is a weekly program that offers social connection with music for your stroke recovery journey. Music has been scientifically provide to aid stroke recovery by improving speech, motor functions like walking, and cognitive skills, and by boosting mood. Activities include Music Trivia, Music Bingo, Music Match and Music Requests. These techniques uses familiar songs and listening to a wide variety of music, which has been shown to stimulate neural pathways and improve memory and attention.
Virtual BC-Wide TALK Program:
TALK (Talk, Adapt, Learn, Know) Program focuses on conversations about your life after a stroke. This is twice-monthly meeting among stroke survivors, facilitated by a counsellor.
We TALK about:
▮ Understanding and coping with the hidden effects of stroke.
▮ We learn from each other.
▮ We support each other.
Virtual BC-Wide PERK Program:
This program benefits people in stroke recovery that seek to improve communication, develop deeper connections and build stronger communities.
The Perk Program is holistic. It is comprised of 14 diverse activity domains (theme areas), each with specific benefits. These domains work together to engage and develop people physically, mentally, emotionally and socially. This program is a one hour, weekly program that promotes connection with self and others on a deeper level through creative, thought-provoking activities. It brings people of different backgrounds and abilities together to express themselves, to be stimulated and to connect with others.
We are delivering our virtual programs via videoconference, using Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
You will be given instructions once you are registered.
