Intensive Treatment of Aphasia in Western Canada (iTAWC)
What is it?
- ▮ Intensive aphasia treatment program
- ▮ 3 hours intensive speech therapy for aphasia,
Monday to Friday, for 4 weeks
Who is it for?
- ▮ People with “chronic” aphasia (have aphasia for more than 1 year)
- ▮ Must be diagnosed with aphasia by Speech Language Pathologist (SLP), Neurologist, Neuropsychologist, or Physiatrist
- ▮ Must have sufficient stamina & attention to participate
- ▮ Must be independent (or bring someone who can assist with their needs)
- ▮ For people who were fluent in English prior to aphasia
- ▮ Must have sufficient vision & hearing to participate
