Home Adjustments After a Stroke
There are a number of ways to adjust your home after you’ve had a stroke; some are quite simple. So, even if a stroke affects how you function, you can still feel at home again. This guide provides a number of tips to make every room in the house easier and safer to enjoy.
Some Tips Include:
- Use a non-slip pad or damp cloth under a dinner plate to keep it from sliding
- Mark bathtub faucets with coloured tape to set the right temperature every time
- Keep a flashlight by your bed in case you need to get up at night
- Add Velcro fasteners to clothing rather than have to fumble with buttons
- Label food containers so that you identify them easily
