Have you had a stroke at least 12 months ago? New study looking for participants

Participants needed for new study

A new study being done by Dr. Teresa Liu-Ambrose at the Aging, Mobility, and Cognitive Neuroscience Laboratory at VGH and UBC, is looking for people who have had a stroke at least 12 months ago.  The study is a year in length, seeing how either an exercise program intervention or a cognitive and social enrichment program can benefit people with chronic stroke.

They are looking for people who have had:

–          One stroke at least 12 months ago

–          Have experienced some memory or cognitive issues as a result of the stroke

–          Can walk at least 6 meters independently (assistive devices such as braces, cane, and walkers                    are okay)

–          Can speak, understand, and read English

–          Are able to attend free 1 hour classes twice weekly at VGH
